Hill & Wilkinson, Ltd. Honored as Outstanding General Contractor of the Year

DALLAS, April 12 -- Hill & Wilkinson, Ltd. was recently
named Outstanding General Contractor of the Year 2005 by the American
Subcontractors Association, North Texas Chapter, according to ASA President
Jim Hollis. "This award is highly coveted because it indicates the
recipient has earned the highest level of respect from its team members,"
says Mr. Hollis.
The criteria for Outstanding General Contractor included:
* Treatment of subcontractors and suppliers as equal members of the
construction team,
* Submittal of contracts and purchase orders in a fair and timely manner,
* Efficiency in running a well-coordinated construction project,
* Maintaining and providing a safe work environment,
* Processing subcontractor's monthly payments, project completions and
owner acceptance and disbursement of retainage accurately and in a
timely manner, and
* Utilizing ASA members as often as possible.
"Hill & Wilkinson received the highest vote count in this category due
to the company's equal and fair treatment of its subcontractors and
suppliers across the board," said Hollis.
According to ASA Executive Director Linda White, "Hill & Wilkinson
competed against six other very qualified firms." Competition included
Rogers-O'Brien Construction, the Beck Group, Austin Commercial, MEDCO
Construction and Centex Construction.
Hill & Wilkinson was also nominated for two other awards:
* Outstanding Project Team for the Campbell Academic Center with project
manager Chris Jackson and project superintendent Lew Seward, and
* Outstanding Project under $25 Million for the North Texas Specialty
Hospital & Professional Building, Denton.
According to Mr. Greg Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer of Hill &
